CFA® Program

Overview

Administered by CFA Institute, the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Program is a graduate-level, self-study curriculum and examination program for investment specialists.

Established in 1962, the CFA Program sets the global standard for investment knowledge, standards, and ethics. Earning the credential can serve as a passport to entry or advancement within the investment profession around the world. The designation tells clients, employers, and colleagues that the charterholder has mastered a rigorous curriculum covering a broad range of investment topics and that he or she is committed to the highest ethical standards in the profession.

Our Society encourages its members to earn the CFA charter and supports candidates by sponsoring CFA exam study groups and other programs.

Access Scholarships

CFA Institute is offering a needs-based scholarships opportunity for those unable to afford the full price of the CFA Program enrollment and registration fees.

Access scholarship awards reduce CFA Program enrollment and exam registration fees to $250, including the CFA Program eBook. (Scholarship candidates are responsible for any additional costs for substituting or adding the print option, including curriculum and shipping costs plus any applicable taxes and import duties.)

  • The 2018 Access Scholarship period is open from 1 March through 15 September 2017.

  • The Access Scholarship application submission period is open from March through September. Last year 3,400 scholarships were awarded.

  • Access Scholarships are awarded on or before 1 December, to be applied to exams in the following year. Access Scholarship recipients may apply the award to the June exam (Levels I, II, and III) or December exam (Level I only)

You must wait until scholarship notifications occur in December before you register for the June exam, or you will be ineligible for the scholarship and your application will be voided

Because scholarship notifications occur after the early exam registration deadline has passed, CFA Institute offers a US$150 credit toward the June exam registration fee for those applicants who do not receive an Access Scholarship but who still wish to register for the June exam. The credit is applied during the exam registration checkout/payment process.*

  • After you submit your scholarship application, you cannot make changes.

  • If your financial situation changes, you may withdraw your application from consideration before 1 October of the year in which you applied.

  • If you receive a scholarship and register for the exam, you must sit for that exam or you may be ineligible for future Access Scholarships.
