Blockchain 101

CFA Society Colorado members will learn about blockchain, including information on cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, ICOs and the risks involved in them from an issuance and investment perspective, Blockchain technology and the underlying uses of the technology including fin-tech, smart contract, supply chain, IoT, and healthcare. Also, included will be a discussion around how exchanges like Coinbase and Shapeshift work. 

Speaker: John Carpenter 

John Carpenter is a licensed attorney in Colorado and received his JD/MBA from the University of Denver, as well as an undergraduate degree in Finance. He is the co-founder of the Global Blockchain Summit and Global Data Summit and is the President of the Denver Chapter of the Government Blockchain Association, he also manages the Denver Meetup for the Hyperledger blockchain group. John is a serial entrepreneur and has founded other technology and media focused companies
