Obermeyer Wood is seeking a full-time professional to support its marketing and communication strategy. This person will play a significant role in enhancing our firm’s brand positioning and elevating the Obermeyer Wood client experience by creating marketing content, using digital media, and leveraging technology. He or she will also support the firm’s financial advisors for initiatives ranging from developing metrics to track marketing results to building out our digital media capabilities to hosting client-focused events.

Working closely with team members across the firm, this person will partner with others to develop and execute client-focused marketing programs and financial advisory materials that are consistent with Obermeyer Wood’s long-term vision. Keys to success are exceptional written and verbal communication skills, data analysis, and project management expertise. This person will also help identify opportunities and technology solutions to make our internal processes more efficient and to elevate the overall client experience. This role requires coordinating work with a diverse set of colleagues while also managing multiple concurrent deadlines. The candidate should have a good knowledge of and be comfortable working with CRM, Microsoft office, website, and social media platforms. Experience or an interest in the investment industry is desired.

Job responsibilities include:

  • developing in-depth experience of client needs, business insight, and market trends to create effective communication programs
  • creating marketing strategy, programs, and content for the business, in consultation with other team members; experience with social media platforms, websites, and CRM systems is ideal
  • orchestrating and editing communications including client quarterly letters, targeted mailings, and holiday gifts
  • collaborating with internal and external partners (e.g. graphic designers, social media consultants, catering teams, financial advisors, etc.)
  • developing and managing firm marketing events


Ideal candidates will have:

  • bachelors degree, preferably with a major in marketing, digital communications, economics, or business
  • three or more years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, social media, or event planning
  • excellent ability to build relationships and influence others, translating prior knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally
  • strong project management and organizational abilities, proficiency at prioritization, the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and the ability to operate under tight deadlines
  • proven ability to write compelling marketing content, experience with print and digital marketing, and understanding of event strategy, operations, and event marketing
  • knowledge of office, customer relationship management, and social media platforms (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Salesforce, WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • self-starter who can work independently or with minimal supervision; exceptional ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with executive management
