Welcome to CFA Society Colorado

Since 1955, CFA Society Colorado has been the home for investment professionals across our state. Originally founded as the Denver Society of Security Analysts, we became an official member of the Financial Analysts Federation (now CFA Institute) in 1955 and incorporated as a nonprofit in 1968. In 2005, we proudly adopted the name CFA Society Colorado (CFACO) to reflect our strong connection to the global CFA community.

Today, our society brings together over 1,700 members, including portfolio managers, security analysts, academics, and other leaders in the investment industry. More than 85% of our members hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, one of the most respected and globally recognized credentials in finance.

Earning the CFA charter requires passing three rigorous exams covering portfolio management, ethics, equity and fixed income analysis, accounting, quantitative methods, and economics. In addition, charterholders must complete at least four years of qualified investment experience and commit to the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct.
